OUR HISTORY
In 1988, the Commission on Aging (CoA) convened the executives of agencies and programs serving the elderly of Stamford to discuss the establishment of an ongoing professional forum for addressing the concerns of the elderly. Participants supported the concept and asked the Commission on Aging to canvass service providers and call the next meeting. Hence, the birth of what is now known as PIES.
In 1993, coordination of PIES was accepted by Senior Services of Stamford when deep staff cuts at the Commission on Aging necessitated elimination of programs.
